The device features a simple three-button on-screen menu interface that streamlines operation. Users can adjust emissivity, start data logging, and control alarms with minimal button presses. The 60:1 distance-to-spot ratio with dual laser sighting enables quick and accurate targeting of small objects from considerable distances.

The thermometer measures temperatures from -30°C to 900°C (-22°F to 1652°F). It displays temperature plus MAX, MIN, DIF, and AVG readings. Emissivity is user-selectable with adjustable digital settings from 0.10 to 1.00 and a built-in table of common materials. The device includes a user-selectable multi-language interface.
